The FC Zenit and Nike have revealed a classy set of kits ahead of the 2014/15 season. The Saint Petersburg club, mostly remembered for their 2008 UEFA Cup title, is known for their latest push for more European success by bringing in big-name players including Andrey Arshavin, Hulk, Axel Witsel, Salomón Rondón and most recently Ezequiel Garay. With beautiful kits like these, it will be easier for fans to get behind the Sine-Belo-Golubye.
The new home is dominated by a classic bright blue color. The trim, traditionally white, has been redesigned with a contrasting darker blue for the collar and cuffs, similar to the belts worn by the army of Peter the Great. Finishing off this classic yet eye-catching jersey, the inner side of the collar includes the inscription “Наше имя Зенит” (Our name is Zenith).
The new away kit is a much more daring design from Nike, featuring a white base with a two-tone blue sash going from right to left on the front of the jersey. Matching the blues on the home kit but also the club’s crest and sponsor’s Gazprom logo, details in these two shades are included in the V-neck collar. Overall, the kit maintains a simple and polished cut while combining that with bold details to contrast with their Home Kit.
How would you rate Zenit’s newest kits by Nike? Which one of the two were your favorites?
