While it’s always exciting to see J. League kits available outside Asia what is even more interesting about the Marinos new shirt is that it is the very first to use a brand new design from adidas Soccer.
The new look that we’re thrilled to see has a classic overlapping V-neck similar to that of adidas’ ubiquitous Condivo 14 template. Things are spruced up via the use of white mesh on the collar, waistline and sleeves. A different mesh fabric is used for ventilation on the jersey’s shoulders.
Two tones of Yokahama’s customary blue is used on the shirt with the darker shade appearing on the upper chest area side areas.
The adidas logo and stripes on the Yokohama F. Marinos 2015 home kit are in gold along with the three stars above the club crest. The stars represent the club’s three J. League Division 1 titles.
Veteran midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura is the face of the Marinos 2015 kit launch. Seasoned soccer fans will remember him for his exploits with Celtic FC on the mid 2000s.
The 2015 home jersey for one of Japan’s best-known and well-supported soccer teams, Yokohama Marinos is now sale in the USA at World Soccer Shop and other fine soccer specialty stores.
