U.S. Soccer Federation chief Sunil Gulati has stated that they are likely to submit an application to be the 2018 World Cup hosts.

On a day when the 'Nats suffered a 2-0 friendly loss to England, Gulati seemed confident they could top Three Lions in a hosting competition.

"We will make a decision in the next two or three months, but we are looking at it very seriously," Gulati told reporters. "I can't think of any reasons why we wouldn't bid for the tournament."

"We've done this before and been successful at doing it... we are determined to finish what we started in 1994."
