Werder Bremen debuted their 2014/15 Nike home kit at their Weser Stadium against Hertha Berlin on Saturday. The match was the team’s final home game of the 2013/14 season.

The new Werder home shirt is a green affair  with a white collar and wide white armbands that the club says represents  the Green-Whites’ tradition and distinctive identity. The kit also represents the spirit and philosophy embodied by the club’s motto “Lifelong Green-White”. The classic polo collar of the jersey features two buttons with orange thread while the club’s initials, SVW, appear on the upper back of the jersey under the collar.

An orange-colored Nike Swoosh is embroidered on the jersey’s right breast while the embroidered Werder crest appears on the left side.

German Bundesliga champions as recently as 2004, Werder Bremen are currently in twelfth place in the Bundesliga with one match left in the 13/14 season. The club has featured internationals such as Per Mertesacker, Torsten Frings (Germany), Naldo (Brazil) and Claudio Pizarro (Peru) over the last decade.
