The Vancouver Whitecaps, Canada’s oldest soccer team in the North American top flight, will have an elegant new home kit from league-wide provider adidas. The ‘Caps have been around since the original NASL in 1974, and in 2014 became the first of the three MLS clubs from the Great North to qualify for the MLS Playoffs twice. They’ll be heading into their fifth Major League Soccer season with high hopes to do it for a third time.
Vancouver’s latest home kit is in the traditional white with navy and light blue features. The most attractive feature of the jersey is the light blue gradient styled in the shape of the badge under the navy crew neck collar, invoking images of the mountains around the city. The back on shirt has “Since 1974” placed under the collar, also in navy. Inside the shirt, the neck line has the club’s motto, “Our all. Our Honour.” The sleeves have the adidas three-stripes in navy, and run from the collar to the shoulders. The new MLS crest appears on each sleeve, in navy and white with light blue being an outline for the shield.
The chest features the aforementioned gradient design, as it fades just when it reaches the underarms. The crest also has a lenticular effect, with diamond designs inside the main shape. At the bottom of the shirt are two short but thick navy stripes on each side. The left side has “Our Honour.” embossed on the left hip. White shorts and socks with navy trim completes the kit. Canadian telecommunications carrier Bell returns as the sponsor.
The Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2015/16 home kit will be available soon at WorldSoccerShop.com and other fine retailers.
