The United States men’s national team was officially placed as the top seed in Group A, the traditional spot handed to host countries. Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina have been placed as top seeds in Groups B-D, respectively.
With the confirmation of the seeding, the venues that the Stars and Stripes will play in were confirmed as well with the team making a west coast to east coast trek over the course of their 3 matches.
Jurgen Klinsmann’s team will open their campaign at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA on June 3 before heading Chicago and Soldier Field on June 7 and concluding the group stage at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on June 11. Depending on if they advance to the elimination round and their finish, they would play a quarterfinal in either at MetLife Stadium, the site for the 2016 Copa America Centenario final, in East Rutherford, New Jersey as the second place finisher or CenturyLink Field in Seattle Washington as the group winner.
The venues for the other top seeds are:
Argentina – Santa Clara (June 6), Chicago (June 10) and Seattle (June 14).
Brazil – Pasadena (June 4), Orlando (June 8) and Foxborough (June 12).
Mexico – Phoenix (June 5), Pasadena (June 9) and Houston (June 13).
