Columbus midfielder Emmanuel Ekpo is back with the club after an exciting Olympic sojourn that saw the rookie win a silver medal with Nigeria.

The Crew man made substitute appearances in all six games as the Super Eagles worked their way to a runners up finish.
 
"It was really nice," Ekpo told MLSNet. "Going to the Olympics and coming this far, most importantly getting a silver out of it, my country is very happy."

"We showed the world we have talented players in Nigeria."

And what of his take home prize? That, Ekpo says, is being closely guarded at all times.

"I always have it with me," he said. "I take care not to displace it."

"After showing it to my teammates I'm going to keep it in my bank just to keep it safe."
