San Jose general manager John Doyle says that he is being very particular when it comes to signing players for the revived franchise's return campaign.
Unwilling to nab every interesting player available, the former Earthquakes defender passed during the MLS waiver draft because none of the choices were judged to be an impact player.
"Maybe somebody else will be waived later," Doyle explained to the San Jose Mercury News.. "We don't want to give up that #1 spot."
"At this point, it can't be just trying to fill a roster," he added. "We have bodies."
"We're really trying to concentrate on an upgrade."
