Though flying under the transfer talk radar this summer, IK Start defender Clarence Goodson is drawing glances for his stellar play, both in the Norwegian top flight and abroad.
The former FC Dallas man has enjoyed a spectacular first season in the Adeccoligaen, scoring near the very top of the country's various player rating tables, and potential winter suitors have taken notice.
"According to the coaches and technical directors up there, he's done very well," Goodson agent Lyle Yorks told Soccer365. "There's a lot of interest."
In addition to playing well at the back, the Virginia native has proven to be a real threat on set pieces - as evidenced by a second towering goal of the term in this weekend's 3-1 win over Løv-Ham, which pushed the Kristiansand outfit to the top of the table. The 26-year old has even made a passable start as a striker to calm a temporary injury crisis.
Although Goodson looks sure to be a hot property at season's end, Yorks duly noted that a January transfer away from Sør Arena was not necessarily
fait accompli.
"Start are trying to go up, too," he reminded. "They will offer him a new contract, I'm sure."
Goodson and first place Start continue their promotion drive with a visit to Sandefjord on September 17th.
