Joseph - A Head Above The Rest

While the New England Revolution’s Shalrie Joseph has bounced back and forth between playing as a forward and central midfielder in recent weeks, one aspect of his game has remained constant throughout – he just keeps scoring goals.
Starting as a forward against Kansas City this past Saturday night, Joseph scored his team-leading fifth goal in the Revolution’s 3-1 loss to the Wizards. The goal was scored in the 28th minute, when Joseph met Steve Ralston’s back-post cross and forced a header between Wizards goalkeeper Kevin Hartman and the post.
The header was Joseph’s fourth header of the season out of his five goals total. With five goals on the season, Joseph is just one goal shy of the career-high mark (6) that he set in 2006, and the Revs haven’t yet reached the midway point of the 2009 campaign.
"He's done really well for us this year,” veteran Steve Ralston said of Joseph’s play this season. “He's been really dangerous and getting a lot of balls in the box."
