“El Tri” heads to the City of Angels after defeating the Canadian National Team 2-1 on September 10, placing them on top of Group 2 with 9 points in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying. Mexico will use the September 24 match to prepare for the final round of qualifying this year, where they will face Jamaica on October 11 in Kingston.

Under the direction of Argentine head coach Marcelo Bielsa, Chile will head to Southern California after solidly defeating Colombia 4-0 on September 10 in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying, Following the victory, “La Roja” secured the fourth spot in the South American qualifying table with a record of 4-3-1, equalizing Brazil and Argentina in points.  Chile next plays Ecuador on October 12 on the road to 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

The September match will be the fourth game of Mexico’s 2008 US Tour, which kicked off on April 16 in Seattle’s Qwest Field against China with a 1-0 win for Mexico.  On June 4 Mexico was defeated at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium by a full-strength Argentina side 4-1 in front of a sold out crowd. Four days later on June 8, Mexico visited Chicago’s Soldier Field and rebounded with a 4-0 win over Peru.
