The UEFA Champions League Round of 16 draw was held in Zurich on Monday and it produced some huge ties set to kick-off in the middle of February.

16 February & 9 March
Paris Saint-Germain (FRA) v Chelsea (ENG)
Benfica (POR) v Zenit (RUS)

17 February & 8 March
Gent (BEL) v Wolfsburg (GER)
Roma (ITA) v Real Madrid (ESP)

23 February & 16 March
Arsenal (ENG) v Barcelona (ESP)
Juventus (ITA) v Bayern München (GER)

24 February & 15 March
PSV Eindhoven (NED) v Atlético Madrid (ESP)
Dynamo Kyiv (UKR) v Manchester City (ENG)

For the most part these are teams that have a European history against one another as all the ties with the 1 exception of Gent vs Wolfsburg have played each other in continental tournaments.  Roma and Real Madrid top the list as the 2 sides have played 8 times in the Champions League since 2001/02.  Barcelona vs Arsenal will certainly make Arsene Wenger shake his head.  The Catalan side have ousted the Gunners 3 times since they first met in the 2006 final.  Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain have played each other the last 2 seasons.  Bayern and Juve, both accustomed to domestic success, played each other in the 2012/13 quarterfinals as the Bundesliga side were marching to the title.  Benfica and Zenith have played in the knockout phase and the group stage.  THe only meeting in the Champions League between Atletico Madrid and PSV Eindhoven came in the 2008/09 Group Stage.  Dynamo and Manchester City have only met in Europe in the UEFA Europa League in 2010/11.
