On the eve of Major League Soccer’s Jersey Week, Toronto FC are the latest team in the league to reveal a new kit. Canada’s first MLS club has a new red home kit from league-wide kit provider adidas. After a disappointing 2014 campaign which ended with TFC missing the playoffs for an eighth consecutive year, Toronto FC reloaded with star power in the offseason. The acquisitions of American international Jozy Altidore and Italian striker extraordinaire Sebastian Giovinco will surely strengthen the side this year working alongside Michael Bradley.
The kit is a solid red with onyx gray details. The jersey has a conservative look with a red crew neck collar, but has red pinstripes on the chest. The neck stripe on the inside of the shirt is onyx with TFC and a part of the design from the top of club’s badge. The trademark adidas three-stripes on the sleeves are onyx, and extend from the collar to the shoulders. The new MLS logos on each sleeve have the team colors of onyx and red with white trim. The back of the shirt has the team’s slogan “All for One” embossed under the neck line.
The jock tag at the bottom left hand side of the jersey has a maple leaf embossed in a 3D shape over a metallic red coat. A thick onyx stripe can be seen on each side at the bottom of the shirt. Bank of Montreal (BMO) returns as the shirt sponsor for Toronto FC, appearing in white. The shorts are red with onyx stripes, and the socks are red with white stripes and a TFC logo on the back side, completing a mostly monochrome kit.
The 2015/16 Toronto FC home kit will be available at WorldSoccerShop.com and other fine retailers.
