By Hunter York – The English Premier League 2015/16 campaign kicks off on August 8 (2015/16 Premier League Fixture List). The league veterans are well-known but the players that may catch your eye are the young Under-23 looking to make a name for themselves. The Top 10 list includes some established stars, youth academy starlets and some potential unknowns but nonetheless these young players are positioned to be the next stars in England.
So without further ado, let’s get on with the Top 10 Young Players to watch in 2015/16.
Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur
Luke Shaw – Manchester United
Rolando Aarons- Newcastle United
Hector Bellerin – Arsenal
Saido Berahino- West Brom
Lazar Markovic- Liverpool
Ross Barkley – Everton
John Stones – Everton
Danny Ings- Liverpool
Marcos Lopes- Manchester City
10. Kelechi Iheanacho – Manchester City
Labeled as the “Nigerian Wonderkid” Iheanacho seems destined to shine at the Etihad. Invited to be a part of the first team’s preseason trip to Australia, Iheanacho has been impressive with the first team with a nice through ball he placed in front of Raheem Sterling to score against Roma. At only 18 years old, Iheanacho could very well see time with City this season. Don’t sleep on the Nigerian wonderkid.
9. Jordan Ibe- Liverpool
With Raheem Sterling moving to the Etihad, expect Ibe to move into more pivotal role for the Anfield club. Ibe normal plays on the left side of the field in an attacking role. Many Liverpool fans are expecting Ibe to become a star in place of Sterling. Ibe is destined to be a star at Anfield with the club fully invested in his future by signing the youngster to a new long-term deal this summer.

8. Patrick Bamford- Chelsea (on loan at Crystal Palace)
A lot of speculation surrounded where Bamford’s footballing future would lie this summer but Bamford put the rumors to rest by signing with Chelsea on a new three year deal, then agreeing to go out on loan at Premier League side Crystal Palace. Bamford won the Championship player of the year last season with Middlesborough. If Bamford is able to secure first team minutes, don’t be surprised if you hear his name called often on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.
7. Jason Denayer- Manchester City
After a successful loan spell at Scottish giants Celtic last season and even being capped by Belgium, Denayer committed his future to City this summer and all signs point towards the 20 year old Belgian to steal some first team minutes in the City back line. City have high hopes he will be able to hold down a first team spot for City and has many thinking he is the next captain at the Etihad once Vincent Kompany moves on or retires.
6. Ruben Loftus-Cheek – Chelsea
Becoming one of the most well known youth players at Chelsea, Loftus-Cheek has been told by Jose Mourinho that he will not go out on loan and stay with the first team. Jose believes he will improve by staying and training with the first team. A 6’4’ midfielder is rare find and at only 19 years old, there is plenty of time for the Chelsea man to become a star this season and beyond.
5. Adnan Januzaj – Manchester United
After what many believe was a disappointing campaign last season, expectations are high for the Belgian international. Still considered a future star at United, don’t be shocked if Januzaj breaks more into the first team this season as United’s young talent would be all out on the field with Luke Shaw and Januzaj.
4. Calum Chambers – Arsenal
Last season saw Chambers become another member of Southampton’s talented team to leave to greener pastures at the Emirates. Playing mainly at right back Chambers has seen time at center back as well. The Englishmen could see more time on the field as he has impressed this preseason.
3. Alex Oxlade- Chamberlin – Arsenal
At only 21 years old, Oxlade-Chamberlin still has loads of potential left in his back pocket. Although He has not turned into the star as of it that Gunner fans expected him to be, many forget he is still just a pup. Playing in the midfield, this could be the season we see the young midfielder finally develop in to a star.
2. James Ward-Prowse – Southampton
Emerging out of the ranks at St. Mary’s, Ward-Prowse looks to become and even bigger name in the Premier League. With Southampton defying all odds last season and finishing near the top of the table, the young English starlet could break out as a star this season. It will be good to see anther star come out of the ranks at Southampton.
1. Raheem Sterling – Manchester City
One of the summer’s biggest signing, both financial and talent wise, Sterling joined Manchester City from Liverpool for a reported 44 million euros with 5 million in add-ons. Sterling doesn’t seem to mind the fee as in the first 3 minutes of his City debut; he slotted home his first goal for the citizens. With Sterling already fitting in at City, expect him to come out and silence his critics with the Eastlands club.
