Lists are always a divisive and subjective issue, no matter the subject matter. We have seen so many great and not-so-great kits on the pitch this year. With soccer being the world’s game, and the many kit reveals and launches that we’ve witnessed and a fair few even posted here, these of course were very hard choices to select ten awesome jerseys.
They can be a anniversary of a club’s achievement, a subtle nod or blatantly obvious shout-out to legendary players or staffers at said club. They can stand for causes and for people or nations. The fresh start for a big club with a new company, that return to the traditional look that hardcore supporters wanted. Or they can just be out there and get loved for that far-out look, or simply put, are just great. In no particular order, here is of our favorite jersey releases in 2015.
Rayo Vallecano Away Kit
— Rayo Vallecano (@RVMOficial) November 25, 2015
Madrid-based Rayo Vallecano gets us started with a kit from Kelme that celebrates and recognizes the “anonymous heroes.” The club’s designated away kit is black with a traditional sash that is made from a rainbow pattern, with each color representing an organization fighting that cause. Rayo’s first away kit (the second is a grey and pink cancer awareness kit) hits the mark when it comes to fighting the good fight to support those less fortunate or unfairly judged.
Germany Away Kit
The defending World Cup champion Germany are gearing up for Euro 2016 with this reversible away kit from adidas. It takes inspiration from street soccer, with the fetching olive green sleeves and two-toned horizontal stripes. The biggest feature is that the jersey is reversible with a light green training jersey inside. Buy the Germany Euro 2016 away jersey at World Soccer Shop
AFC Ajax, the most successful club in the Netherlands, have a new kit from supplier adidas that has a couple distinguishing features from the average Ajax home kit. The sponsor, Ziggo, returns for its first full season and the shirt is a nod to their city, Amsterdam. The folded sleeves reveal the flag of the city, doubling as a captain’s armband.
