Lionel Messi fans were not happy to see the Barcelona forward knocked from his perch on top of the best-selling customized soccer jersey list in the U.S. and are working to get their #10 back on top of the table.
Messi climbed back into the top spot, according to the World Soccer Shop September sales report, and he now has Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the player with the top selling jersey for 2016/17, in his sights. The ‘god of Old Trafford’ will be hard to topple, however, there could be an opening as the Red Devils form has been inconsistent that last few weeks and they are not playing in the UEFA Champions League this season.
Paul Pogba dropped down to third place with Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr rounding out the Top 5.
The biggest surprise, however, may be with Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic breaking into the Top 20. The midfielder is leaving his mark in the German Bundesliga, the UEFA Champions League, and with the U.S. men’s national team.
