With a pocket full of winners’ medals, Phil Neville is one of the most decorated active players in the game and the Everton player was born in 1977 on this day in soccer history. The versatile defender/midfielder won six Premiership titles, three FA Cups and the European Cup while he was playing with Manchester United from 1994 until 2005.

Neville and his brother, Gary, were two of ‘Fergie's Fledglings,’ first joining the Manchester youth academy and working up to the full team during the 1994/95 campaign.

In August 2005 Neville joined Everton on a five-year contract for a fee in excess of £3.5 million. He has since worked his way to becoming the captain of the squad.

Neville has also earned time with the England national team. He has earned 59 caps with the team and played in the 1996, 2000 and 2004 European Championships although he has never made a FIFA World Cup roster.
