Chelsea captain John Terry is ready to get the Blues pre-season started and took a moment this morning to share of picture of the team on their plane ready to take-off for America on his Instagram page. The Premier League holders will be based in Montreal for the 2-week stay and will play 3 friendlies in the U.S.
Montreal was selected as the team’s base because of its favorable climate. They will spend the first week in the Canadian city training before flying to New York City to open their International Champions Cup campaign.
They face the New York Red Bulls of MLS on Wednesday, July 22. Willian, Filipe Luis, Juan Cuadrado and Falcao will join the team in NYC. The quartet recently completed their Copa American campaign. After the match they will return to Montreal.
The Blues return south of the border to face Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, July 25 in Charlotte, NC and close out their American tour with a match against Barcelona on Tuesday, July 28 in Washington, DC. The end their ICC campaign back home at Stamford Bridge against Fiorentina on August 5.
