Valencia vice-president Fernando Gomez insists they have yet to receive a formal offer for star striker David Villa, but admits they could be tempted by a 50million euro bid.

Spanish media reports suggested Valencia had turned down an offer of around 47million euros from Real Madrid for the Spain international, who has also been linked with a move to the Premier League.

However, no bid has been put before Valencia, according to Gomez.

"There is no offer for Villa and if one arrives we hope it will be as soon as possible, (although) we hope one never comes."

Valencia have set their stall out to keep both Villa and his fellow Spain star David Silva at the club next season, but while Silva's future with Los Che has been secured due to an improved contract, Gomez admits that a big-money bid for Villa could lead to some serious thinking at the Mestalla.

"It would be very difficult to see Villa leave Valencia," said Gomez, who added a hypothetical bid of 50million euros would be "a good offer, but I cannot assure that we would say yes to it".

"Valencia have not had any offer for Villa. Anything that arrives will be studied," he said.

Gomez still hopes to persuade the 26-year-old Villa to pen an improved contract with Valencia though, saying in Marca: "We will be reviewing his contract so that he is happier to continue with us.

"We have to meet with his agent, but I don't know when."

With regards to the future of Serbian striker Nikola Zigic, who was linked to a number of sides in England, Gomez admitted: "We have wanted to sell Zigic but it has not been possible, and now we don't have a concrete offer for his transfer."
