Inverness manager Craig Brewster has one single goal left this season - to finish above this weekend's opponents Falkirk in the SPL.
With Falkirk sitting four points above the ninth-placed Highlanders in the standings, Brewster knows his side must win to have any chance of achieving that aim.
Victory for Inverness would leave them with a shot at repeating last term's finish in eighth position and beating their points total of 46.
Meanwhile, avoiding defeat at the Falkirk Stadium would ensure Caley Thistle could not be caught by St Mirren, who they face at home on the final day of the season.
But a determined Brewster insists he is only looking upwards.
He said: "My only goal is to try and win the game so we can try to finish above Falkirk.
"There are six points to be had between now and the end of the season, and we want to get them.
"All we are trying to do is progress as a team and apart from that blip where we had a run of defeats then it's been really good."
Falkirk have had the upper hand in the three contests between the sides this season, posting two victories to Caley Thistle's sole success.
Both wins for Falkirk were achieved by a solitary goal and Brewster is anticipating another tight match on this occasion.
"I think it will be very close between us and that there will be goals in the game on Saturday, said Brewster.
"It will probably come down to the odd goal in deciding the winner and I hope it's us that gets it."
When Inverness did defeat Falkirk, back in late September last year, it was by an impressive 4-2 scoreline.
Brewster believes his side have produced few stronger showings than that day throughout the campaign.
The Inverness boss said: "I have to say the first game against Falkirk up in Inverness was probably one of our best performances this season."
Thistle did improve on the goal tally they managed in that match with Falkirk when they comprehensively defeated Gretna 6-1 last Saturday, although the already-relegated Borderers remain in a state of disarray.
Nevertheless, Brewster does not agree that Gretna's plight, which could soon see the club cease to exist, took the shine off his team's win.
He said: "Gretna had drawn their previous three games before playing us, so you have to give them credit for that.
"We just played well on the day and I was delighted that we scored six goals."
