A late brace from Kris Boyd saw Rangers defeat struggling ICT 3-0 at Caledonian Stadium.
The first half ended goalless as Caley wasted numerous chances in front of goal and Rangers struggled to find width.
Rangers finally broke the deadlock a minute after returning from the break when Nacho Novo tore down the left wing and crossed in to Steven Davis, who then back-heeled the ball to Pedro Mendes. Mendes curled a brilliant goal up and around Ryan Esson in to the far corner of the net.
Caley Thistle's best chance was a direct free-kick in the second half, on the edge of the Rangers box. Douglas Imrie's attempted curler hit the Rangers wall and rebounded clear.
Following Mendes' goal the hosts seemed demoralised while Rangers appeared inspired by the strike.
In the 81st minute, Davis flicked an impressive reverse pass through to Kris Boyd who slammed a low drive past Esson from 12 yards.
Six minutes later it was once again Boyd, as he got on the end of a high cross from Chris Burke, and met it with a neat header.
The result sees Rangers get within five points of top-of-the-table Celtic, while ICT continue to languish in dead last on the SPL table.
