Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell admits the club would be interested in joining a reorganised Premier League structure.
Bolton chairman Phil Gartside is reportedly keen on altering England's top-flight in order to make space for the Bhoys and their Old Firm rivals Rangers, proposing plans for a two-tier Premier League.
And while Lawwell claims the Hoops are happy to stay in the Scottish Premier League, he also admits the thought of playing in the Premier League would be worth considering.
"We are a Scottish club. We are playing in Scotland at the moment and we are delighted to do that," Lawwell said.
"It's an exciting league but in the long term we have a responsibility to look. I think we would be obliged to look closer at something like that.
"We don't know anything about the details but we believe it is not only Bolton and Phil Gartside who have support for it.
"We will just wait and see how it develops. These type of things have happened before and they haven't been able to deliver, so we will wait and take it from there."
