McCulloch, who turns 30 on Wednesday, the day of the final, has been out of action since sustaining a broken bone in his foot during the Old Firm clash against Celtic on April 16.

He has been back in full training this week though and is poised to beat his target for returning to first-team action, which he admitted was "10 minutes in the Scottish Cup final".

Brahim Hemdani, Charlie Adam and DaMarcus Beasley should also be in the Rangers squad for the match in Manchester, affording boss Walter Smith a wide range of midfield options.

"These guys are well in the frame for Wednesday," Gers assistant boss McCoist told BBC Radio Scotland.

"Brahim has been different class for us in Europe this year, and big Lee's coming back from injury, Charlie Adam's come back from injury, Beasley's coming back. We've got a full (clean) bill of health just about."

Goalkeeper Allan McGregor and winger Chris Burke are certain absentees.

McCoist said: "The rest of the guys that have been out with short-term injuries are back and they'll come back with a view for selection on Wednesday."
