Losing your phone can be pretty dramatic nowadays, and more if you are celebrating an epic comeback at Anfield. Liamie Marum, a Liverpool fan who witnessed their epic game versus Borussia Dortmund, lost his phone while celebrating their fourth goal, and got it back a few minutes letter with something new: a selfie featuring Mamadou Sakho and Divock Origi. Lucky guy, don’t you think?
Speaking of which, the semifinals draw for both Champions League and Europa League took place early on Friday, and we’ve got some nice clashes here (with the possibility of two Spanish finals!)
FC Barcelona may have been knocked out from the UCL, but at least we know for sure they keep their class intact. A young girl named Hanya Sajad, who suffers the same growth deficiency disease that affected Lionel Messi during his youth, was promised a meeting with the Argentinian star in January, but got a kinda bad Photoshop instead. However, the club contacted her and let her meet Messi and the rest of the team in March.
Turkish Airlines, official Euro 2016 sponsor, revealed the first-ever UEFA Euro-branded plane, which will fly to selected destinations while boasting art inspired by this summer’s European competition. Soccer fans around the globe will be able to track the plane’s movements with the use of the hashtag #eurointhesky.
In other news, the 2016 Summer Olympics soccer draw paired the USWNT with France, New Zealand and Colombia .
Anthony Joshua, who was recently crowned as IBF world heavyweight champion, confessed during an interview that he had to quit FIFA 16 due to it’s addictive nature. He said that he spent way too much time playing the EA Sports game, to the point that he slept just a couple of hours before training.
