Among South America’s best supported clubs thirty six time Argetina Primera Division (including last season’s winners) Club Atlético River Plate unveiled their home kit for the 2014/15 season at their club shop last week.
Worn against Independiente during week 8 of the ongoing season this weekend, the new jersey was modeled by iconic club striker Fernando Cavenaghi along with current players Barovero, Balanta, Martinez, Vangioni and Mercado. They all were on hand for an autograph session following the launch. The event used the theme “De River se nace y se vive” (Born and living of River).
The River Plate 2014/15 home shirt uses three horizontal adidas stripes on its sleeves. The design takes its inspired from the clu’s home kit of the 1996/97 season – one of the most successful in club history. During that campaign a River team with stars such as Pablo Aimar, Santiago Solari, Ariel Ortega, Enzo Francéscoli and Marceloa Salas won three Primera titles along with the 1996 Copa Libertadores.
The River Plate 2014/15 home kit is completed by black shorts with red and black accents and a choice of either black or white socks.
