Real Madrid have unveiled their new home and away kits for the 2016/17 season, both inspired by glorious times from their rich history.
Home jersey is inspired by the iconic 1902 shirt, featuring an elegant polo collar which creates a classic feel. This year the jersey body has a slightly darker shade of white and brings back blue for the secondary details.
The Real Madrid badge features on the left chest, sitting proudly over the heart. Blue adidas and Fly Emirates logos adorn the front of the jersey, while the iconic three stripes are placed on the sides. Blue also appears inside the collar’s buttoning area and the sleeve cuffs.
Away shirts brings back another classic Real Madrid color: purple. Its simple crew-neck design reflects on the club’s past and core values, with the color paying homage to the Quinta del Buitre (the Real Madrid core team that dominated Spanish soccer in the 1980s).
The Real Madrid crest is featured in a monochromatic version, adding to the overall retro look of the shirt. The adidas stripes appear on the shoulders, running from the collar to the top of the sleeves, which also have white detailing on the cuffs. Fly Emirates and adidas performance logo are painted in white to preserve a clean look.
An inner bicolored neck tape holds the club’s name on it.
