Reading FC took the literal approach and ‘launched’ their 2016/17 home and away jerseys by technical sponsor Puma today gleefully announcing the club had taken the ‘concept of a kit launch to a new level…128,000 feet in fact! So we sent our strips into the stratosphere.’

The home jersey stays a little closer to home and tradition with a royal blue and white hooped design.

The hoops orbit to the back of the jersey with a gradient graphic to create a white number box at the center of the jersey.

The jersey features a blue v-neck collar and blue piping on the front seam of the shoulder panel running half way down the sleeve to the Sky Bet Championship badge on the left sleeve. Subtle white piping is on the back seam of the shoulder panel.

The Reading FC badge sits over the heart on the top white hoop with a blue Puma leaping cat on the right chest. The Caraboa sponsor logo is across the front of the jersey.

The away jersey makes a bolder statement with a yellow jersey with stylized black hoops and black detailing. The hooped look is created with diagonal black lines with thinner lines on the top hoop and thicker lines used with each descending hoop to make them look darker and a solid black hoop at the waistband.

Black open mesh panels are under the arms and a black v-neck with polo collar and black shoulder panels that run down the entire sleeve top off the look. The back of the jersey is solid yellow.

The event had a more down-to-earth ending with players Paul McShane, Ali Al Habsi, Jake Cooper and Jordan Obita walking onto the field with the new jerseys on at the West Stand of Madejski Stadium.
