Following the reveal of the all new evoTOUCH cleats, Puma has also unveiled new vibrant colorways for their traditional evoSPEED and evoPOWER silos, which keep the dual colored concept from the Tricks collection.
The new evoSPEED SL-S II paint job features a combination of red blast, black and white. Both shoes have red heels, but white takes over the right upper and black appears on the left one. Each cleat also shows Puma’s iconic formstrip on the outer face and the silo’s name on the inner applied in the opposite color.
evoSPEED cleats are among the lightest on the market, made with a Japanese microfibre upper material that makes them comfortable while also enhancing ball touch. The laser-cut Speedframe optimizes the shoe’s shape to provide unrivaled support during forward acceleration and quick turns.
The outsole features a Speedtrack spine to balance speed and flexibility, while the lightweight nylon stud configuration is composed of bladed and conical studs strategically placed for explosive acceleration and responsiveness. Some of the world’s fastest players will wear them next season, including Sergio Agüero, Antoine Griezmann and Marco Reus.
“The evoSPEED SL-S II is a great boot to both train and play games in. The updated Speedframe cage and soft material provide me with the support and comfort I need, but it is still super light which is extremely important for me,” said Argentine striker Sergio Agüero. “Puma’s two colored boots are iconic and the colors and graphics on this boot are really cool – I’m definitely looking forward to starting the new season in them.”
evoPOWER 1.3 cleats, on the other hand, won’t follow the dual colored concept, but rather go for a traditional – yet modern – take on the same blast red, black and white colors. This time black takes on the heels, fading to the front while following a geometrical pattern and changing into red. White is used to highlight the formstrips on the outer upper.
These cleats are designed for tank players like Olivier Giroud, Yaya Touré and Mario Balotelli. Their design is based on the principles of barefoot kicking, aiming to enhance the body’s natural power. For that, Puma developed the combination of Adap-Lite and AccuFoam on the upper, increasing both the kicking surface and the flexibility of the boot.
The outsole was revamped to improve the conical and bladed studs configuration from earlier models, allowing for extra maneuverability and stability on the standing foot when shooting.
“I’ve been wearing evoPOWER for a few years now and Puma have continued to develop the boot, with updates that have made it even better,” added French star striker Olivier Giroud. “I’m very happy with the boot; the stability it gives is great, it’s comfortable and it helps improve my performance. I’m a fan of this new color too, it’s a good looking boot and it will stand out on pitch.”
Puma evoSPEED and evoPOWER cleats are available at World Soccer Shop.
