The front of the jersey sponsorship of Premier League clubs brings huge exposure for companies. Companies pay millions of dollars for the opportunity to take their marketing message to fans in the UK, US, Asia, and every corner of the world. The opportunity in the top flight can be short lived and ironically 1 team sponsor is giving themselves long odds at keeping their name printed across a Premier League club’s jersey.

Dafabet inked a 2 year deal with Sunderland in June and the Asian online betting company stated that one reason was to have a Premier League presence. The company’s previous front of the jersey sponsor deal with Aston Villa ended after the 2014/15.
“Having been very proactive in the last few months increasing our presence in football we have maintained that being on the front of a Premier League club shirt was vital for our global presence,” Dafabet John Cruces said at the announcement.
The company may have to start looking for a new Premier League team to sponsor if their oddsmakers are on the mark. Sunderland, who have lost their opening 2 matches and conceded 7 goals, are odds on 5/8 favorites for relegation.
