Paris Saint-Germain and Nike have unveiled their new home jersey for the 2016/17 season, the first in the club’s new era without Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The design represents the club’s history and DNA, and will feature Nike Aeroswift technology in the Authentic version.
Their iconic red band will now be wider, consisting of 14 thin stripes and 2 white lines on the sides. The body will have two shades of blue, with the darker one taking on the sleeves and side panels. The club’s crest is placed on the left chest, at the same height as Nike’s Swoosh logo. Fly Emirates takes position on the front, interrupting the wide band for better contrast.
“Ici C’est Paris” (“This is Paris”), the club’s motto, is seen on the inner neck. The back of the jersey will feature the word “Paris” and another minimalist interpretation of PSG’s iconic band. The authentic version will have a couple more details, with “Grandeur” and “Passion” adorning the inside cuffs.
The full kit will be completed by blue shorts and socks, with some white and red accents and including the city’s name on the later. It will debut on-pitch against Nantes when fans bid farewell to Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Parc des Princes on May 14.
