Orlando Pirates Football Club unveiled bold looks for their 2016/17 home and away jerseys by adidas.
The home jersey remains the club’s traditional black but has implemented a new interpretations on the execution of the details. The v-neck collar of recent seasons is replaced with a 2-button Mandarin collar. The rounded portion of the collar and inside the placket are in light grey.
The light grey also replaced white as the color of the adidas 3-Stripes, running from the collar to ½ way down the sleeve, the adidas Performance logo on the right chest, and the club’s badge over the heart.
The 3-D badge is similar to the design process used on adidas club’s playing in this year’s UEFA Champions League.
“Orlando Pirates is a Club steeped in great history, and as we approach our 80th Anniversary, we felt that it was important to honour certain elements of that history in the executions of our new jerseys,” Orlando Pirates Brand Activation Manager, Tokoloho Moeketsi said at the launch. “We are proud of our new jerseys and look forward to seeing them both on the field and in the stands.”
The away jersey switches from the red of recent season’s to white for the 2016/17 campaign. The red of the club is utilized in a horizontal band across the chest that serves as the background for the Vodacom sponsorship logo.
A white v-neck collar is flanked with the black adidas 3-Stripes running from the collar to ½ way down the sleeve.
