Major League Soccer expansion team Orlando City SC unveiled their inaugural away kit on Tuesday as part of Jersey Week. Players like Aurien Collin, Brek Shea and Kaká were on hand to show off the new look at a club event. Orlando made the jump from the then USL PRO to MLS with the strong support of their fans. In turn, their secondary kit, just like their home kit, honors the club’s heritage and passionate supporters.
The away kit has strong similarities to their home kit. It comes in white with purple and gold accents. The collar is a rounded v-neck in purple, with gold neckline trim. The classic adidas three-stripe trim on the sleeves are in purple. The neckline has a quote that pays homage to The Ruckus, a supporter group with “Forever Our City” in red. The home kit’s “This is Orlando” in the same area is for the other supporter group, The Iron Lion Firm.
The back of the shirt has the team’s wordmark with a crown on top in purple. The new MLS logo appears on both sleeves has the club’s new colors of purple and white with gold trim and purple outline. The sleeve cuffs and thick hem stripe at the bottom of the shirt are in purple.
At the heart of the jersey, Orlando’s MLS crest on their shirts gives way to their old USL crest underneath, in a monochrome black. The jersey also features a faint hooped pattern, just like the home kit. Orlando Health, long time sponsor for the Lions, returns for the club’s first MLS away kit.
The 2015/16 Orlando City SC away kit is available now at WorldSoccerShop.com and other fine retailers.
