Second-year MLS side Orlando City SC released their 2016 away jersey on Tuesday. The Lions are trading in their first clash kits for a more impressive secondary kit with the MLS season just around the corner. Fans flocked to see their club in training as they once again begin their hunt for the MLS Cup.
OCSC’s new secondary is in white with more royal purple and gold details. The standard v-neck collar has been traded in for a more modern look. The sleeves are now completely purple, with thin gold trim at the cuffs. Three-stripe side piping on both flanks are also in purple.
The neck tape inside the shirt has the team’s latest motto, “Defy Expectations,” in English, Spanish (“Superando las Expectativas”) and Portuguese (“Superando Expectativas”) in gold, with lion heads adorned in between.
At the back of the collar, a gold lion head over a purple and white backdrop.
Orlando City’s crest gets a 3D treatment, with defined detailing on the golden mane and a sunburst design in the center of the lion’s head.
Orlando Health is retained as the shirt sponsor for the Lions. The complete kit will come with white shorts and socks with purple trim, and purple gradated horizontal stripes on the socks.
