Manchester United’s ground, Old Trafford, has undergone a summer transformation and will be ready when a new look Red Devils host Tottenham on the Premier League’s opening day on August 8. World Soccer Shop took a moment to take in the quiet of the empty stands while we were guests of the club for the 2015/16 home jersey unveil on August 1.
The Stretford End waits patiently on the west side of the stadium while the East End has a new look with the club’s new technical sponsor adidas’ logo covering the seats. The 3-Stripes Performance logo has been placed in and around the stand.
The players are the main actors in this Theater of Dreams and Juan Mata, Daley Blind, and Phil Jones were on hand to unveil the new kit. This is the first Manchester United jersey made by adidas since the 1991/92 campaign and pays tribute to many of the looks of the team in the 1980’s and 90’s.
adidas focused on every element of the jersey to create an iconic look and have given the release the motto ‘Breaking Expectations.’ The 10-year £75m ($116) a year deal will allow Man Utd to continue to challenge the best teams in England and Europe for soccer supremacy.
The only remaining question is whether any of the players on the pitch this season will make an impact and one day join George Best, Denis Law, Bobby Charlton in bronze outside the stadium.
The 2015/16 Manchester United home soccer jersey is available at World Soccer Shop.
