Soccer fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the start of the 2014 World Cup this summer in Brazil but Nike is giving fans a sneak peak at their 2014 Football Innovation Showcase in Madrid today and tomorrow.

Soccer365 is on hand to take a look at some of the gear.

There was still a buzz in the air from the Nike Magista launch also in Madrid in early March and the cleat was still on display along with new colorways of other silos from The Swoosh…

magista-2Magista_1…and who doesn’t love a soccer cleat chandelier?

nike-cleat-chanderlierThe big news coming out of Nike prior to the Magista launch was the staggered release of the federation jerseys.  Nike is the apparel sponsor for 10 of this summer’s teams headlined by the hosts, Brazil, and the United States.  They also have Australia, Croatia, England, France, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal, and South Korea and they were all on hand for the event.

nike-federation-all-jerseysAnd one of the first things that jumps out about this year’s Nike federation jerseys is that they all look much nicer in person than in images (S365 admits our photographer is new to the job as well but trust us the jerseys in person look better than good photos as well).

england-nikeshowcaseEngland won the 1966 World Cup.  The Three Lions made the move from longtime supplier Umbro to Nike in the spring of 2013 and this will be their first World Cup in The Swoosh.

france-nikeshowcaseFrance won in 1998 and after highs-and-lows since then are aiming for better team camaraderie and good performances to do well in Brazil.

portugal-nikeshowcasePortugal has Cristiano Ronaldo who has been impossible to stop over the past couple of years.  Yes, it is a team game but sometimes 1 player can rule the outcome (just ask Sweden or refer back to the 1986 World Cup).

netherlands-nikeshowcaseThe Netherlands are eager to add their name to the list of World Cup winners.  The Dutch are the best team to have never won the tournament with 3 runners-up finishes (1974, 1978, and 2010).

nikefc-nikeshowcaseAre you are part of Nike F.C.?  Nike recently released their latest line of apparel for those who are willing to take risks.  ‘Sem Risco náo há Vitória (without risk there is no victory)’ is what it takes to be a champion.
