Nike revealed “Cachaña”, the official match ball for the 2015 Copa America last week at the national stadium in Santiago, Chile by Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.
The 2015 Copa America will feature all ten CONMEBOL teams along with guests Mexico and Jamaica from CONCACAF. Players like Neymar, Alexis Sanchez, Lionel Messi, James Rodriguez, Luis Suarez and Chicharito will be present on the field along with Cachaña.
Cachaña refers to the distinctive and eye-catching style of play that soccer players display on Chilean neighborhoods and fields to get past their rivals.
Cachaña’s pattern resembles the Nike Ordem II Official Match Ball (OMB), which is used in the Copa Libertadores, Premier League, Serie A and La Liga. Mainly white and with the Nike swoosh in black along with the 2015 Copa America logo on the top, Cachaña features a special graphic pattern with Chilean cultural colors like blue, red, white and brown and Andean arrays, which represent its people, skies and mountains.
Nike has engineered Cachaña with the most advanced technology in the game. The ball includes unmatched flight control with the brand new aerodynamic Nike Aeroe Trac grooves.
The Copa America is the oldest international soccer competition in the world and it will be held in eight cities of Chile from June 11 to July 4.
The Cachaña, Nike Ordem 2 Copa America Ball, is available at World Soccer Shop and other fine soccer retailers.
