Manchester United is embarking on a new era this season. Louis van Gaal was hired as manager to restore order on the field. Chevrolet was signed as the new jersey sponsor. And Nike unveiled the new 2014/15 Manchester United Home jersey today as a sign of changes to come and the return to glory.
The most noticeable change is the new sponsor logo across the chest. Chevrolet, who reportedly paid $559 million for the 7-year jersey sponsorship, replaces AON on the front of the jersey. The Gold, Silver, and White Chevrolet logo stands out and looks good on the red jersey.
The classic red jersey is the canvas for the other artistic changes on the jersey. The collar and cuffs are predominantly white but include a thin red stripe and larger black stripe as the trim. A subtle chevron finish and 1-button collar replicates the looks of jerseys from the early 20th century. The button is engraved with the club name.

The inside of collar includes a personalized tag that reads “Youth Courage, Greatness” – the club’s values. The back detailing includes the iconic black devil right below the collar and a chevron pattern engineered in mesh, the latter being a part of the more exclusive ‘authentic’ player version and not included as part of the replica shirts
The new look could be the last for the Red Devils by Nike. The Red Devils are in the last year of their contract with the Swoosh.
The jersey will make its on-field debut when Manchester United takes on the Los Angeles Galaxy at the Rose Bowl on July 23.
