Neymar is on his way of becoming one of the greatest soccer players ever (we’ve been lucky enough to watch him play in the era of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi), and his unique style of play never stops to amaze the whole globe. Nike has teamed up with Brazilian artist Bruno Big to bring Neymar’s motto ‘Ousadia e Alegria’ (‘Courage and Joy’) to life in the form of Hypervenom Phantom II cleats.

Spec-wise, these hold the same features of the original Hypervenom Phantom II cleats released back in 2015, with the added Dynamic Fit collar for lockdown comfort, an updated upper and the iconic sole plate designed for skillful players who deceive the opposition. The bold graphic showcases Bruno Big’s unmistakable style, using white base combined with black drawings and bright crimson accents.

The graphic on the right boot represents a heart (for ‘Alegria’) and it can be seen better on the insole. The left cleat, on the other hand, is a closed fist representing ‘Ousadia’, and the graphic also lays on the inside. Neymar’s new logo is placed on the sides of both cleats. Neymar is set to debut ‘Ousadia e Alegria’ during his next game with FC Barcelona, against Athletic Club on January 27 and once again versus Atletico Madrid on the 30th.

“I associate ‘Alegria’ with the joy of living and playing football, which I love most, and ‘Ousadia’ in having the audacity to do something different, which people don’t expect to see,” explained Neymar Jr. about his motto.

“I created two different images, one for ‘Ousadia’ and one for ‘Alegria,'”
says Bruno Big about the eye-catching design. “There is a heart and there is a hand, so the idea is intended to be more graphic than a direct message. That is the interesting point of it.”
