The Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II was a revolutionary cleat when Cristiano Ronaldo pulled the cleat on for the 2010 World Cup.  And to pay tribute to that shoe, Nike has released the Mercurial Vapor IX Fast Forward ’10.

FatForward_sideThe Fast Forward ’10 utilizes the latest technology with the visual look of the 2010 cleat as a clear thank you to its predecessor.  Ronaldo will once again debut the cleat.  He will wear a pair during the Clasico with Barcelona in La Liga action this weekend.

FatForward_bottomThe Superfly II was groundbreaking in 2010.  Nike FlyWire technology was used to provide a supportive upper but with less weight.  The carbon fiber plate for the sole did the same, reducing the overall weight of the cleat by 5%.

FatForward_topAnd to make sure players and fans took notice the cleat was released in a Metallic Mach Purple/Total Orange.
