Nike have released the Academy Pack across four of their silos, with the collection inspired by the young footballers at the Nike Academy in St. George’s Park, England.
Although entirely black, these boots remain eye-catching thanks to subtle gradient changes that highlight the design of each boot. There is the slightest dash of colour on the soleplates.
Many academies enforce policies of young players only being allowed to wear black boots, so their talent can stand out, not their footwear.
The players at the Nike Academy even have the honour of being among the very first to test out new Nike boots and products before they are officially unveiled.
With bright coloured boots so common nowadays, it’s always a throwback to see a player strutting their stuff in a completely blackout pair, in a move that can exude understated class.
