Four months ago, Nike revealed the unique Michael Jordan/Neymar Jr. collaboration that merged the worlds of basketball and soccer in the Brazilian star’s Hypervenom cleats. Today, a new colorway for the collection was unveiled.
Originally inspired by the iconic Jordan V shoes, these boots will now feature a white base with the fighter jet shark teeth graphic in red and black. The Dynamic Fit collar is grey with the Swoosh showcasing a reflective material as a nod to the Jordan V’s reflective tongue.
Neymar Jr. became the first soccer player to wear the Jumpman logo, which is placed on the heel and soleplate while a fusion with Neymar’s logo is featured on the sockliner. Players often get attached to a particular number and Nike honors that by adding Jordan’s 23 on the right shoe and Neymar’s 11 on the left one.
“Michael Jordan set the standard for greatness,” says Neymar Jr. “He’s an incredible competitor and a champion. I’ve always admired him, so to collaborate with him and have his icon on my boots means a great deal to me.”
“I’m excited that Neymar and the Jordan Brand are working together,” said Michael Jordan. “I’m a fan of his creativity, style and passion for the game of soccer. He’s a special player and I look forward to this collaboration.”
NJR X JORDAN white colorway is available at World Soccer Shop.
