The Nike World Headquarters is without a doubt one of the coolest office complexes in the world. The development of the property which began in 1990 will experience another expansion with 3.2 million square feet being added with a completion date of 2018.
The idea of an ‘office complex’ or ‘world headquarters’ although accurate can be stifling which is why the facilities are frequently referred to as the Nike Campus lending to a more educational and innovative experience. These ideas are not only seen in the products Nike designs but also the process in which they are designed.

The new buildings will be incorporated into the current design sitting among natural green spaces, paths, and of course sports fields and courts. They will be organic extensions of the natural landscape and utilize natural daylight, radiant convection system to heat and cool the facilities, a closed-looped grey water treatment center, and other environmentally friendly building techniques with the aim of gaining LEED Platinum certification.
The architectural work is being done by 3 Northwest-based firms: ZGF Architects, SRG Partnership and Skylab Architecture will guide design, while PLACE, of Portland, will provide landscape architecture services.
