Neymar was spotting wearing his trusted Nike Mercurial Vapors in Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid on Saturday. The final match of the La Liga campaign was also a winner-take-all battle for the league title so a huge one for both teams.
The draw gave Atletico the title but the question still up in the air is why Neymar switched back to the Vapor from the Hypervenom. The Brazilian was the face of the Hypervenom launch and his move to the cleat was about as hyped as his move from Santos to Barca.
Could it be that the forward is starting to feel his cleats may be part of his scoring problems? Neymar has admittedly battled some injuries but he has only scored 4 goals since the start of 2014. And the pressure is quickly building as he is expected to carry the weight of a nation this summer at the World Cup.
Neymar would not be the first player to opt back to the Nike Mercurial Vapor. Sweden and Paris Saint Germain strike Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was another face of the silo, decided the end of last year that he preferred his Vapors.
