When we spoke to Taryn Tomczyk last year about her potential college destination she gave us a list of her strongest candidates. Colgate wasn't on it. Ah, but those sneaky Raiders. They swooped in to steal her heart and add another great prospect to an already strong 2012 class."

Tomczyk signed last week to join fellow Top 100 players Sidney Morales-Parodie and Lauren D'Amico - giving Colgate a sleeper class for the second straight year, a fact that wasn't lost on Tomczyk.

"I knew that Lauren had committed and she told me a lot about the program. It's a really prestigious school academically and the girls seem to have good team chemistry on the field."

Well, winning certainly helps that and the Raiders happen to be the toast of the Patriot League. Tomczyk could help add to the winning ways. She's arrived to this point despite being beset by an ACL injury two years ago. She had to rehab and regain the buzz she had created prior to going down and she's done well for herself.
