In-form Sunderland forward Stephane Sessegnon has brushed off speculation linking him with a move away from the Stadium of Light.

The 27-year-old has impressed in recent weeks establishing himself as a key man in the Sunderland side since the arrival of Martin O'Neill as manager.

Sessegnon's performances have not gone unnoticed among the Premier League's elite with the likes of Tottenham and Manchester City credited with an interest in the diminutive forward.

The Benin international insists he is not thinking about interest from other clubs and will consider his future at the end of the season.

"Interest from some bigger English clubs? I don't think about that so far," Sessegnon told L'Equipe.

"Above all I am thinking to score and assist. We will talk about my future again at the end of the season."

Sessegnon initially struggled to adapt to life on Wearside after arriving from Paris Saint-Germain last January, but he believes he has now settled in England.

"Indeed when I came it was not that easy," added Sessegnon. "For six months I was down, and I was alone. My wife and kids remained in Paris.

"Then, things have changed. I have adapted to English way of life and the football spirit here. I am relaxed and more serene."

Sessegnon admits he is enjoying his role under O'Neill with the Northern Irishman giving him more freedom to express himself.

"Martin O'Neill? Maybe I have more attacking freedom now," he said.

"I am a player who likes to touch the ball, and not remaining in a fixed position suits me well."

Sessegnon also praised Sunderland's fans for the support they have shown the side since his arrival at the club.

"Sunderland fans? They are amazing," continued Sessegnon.

"Last season despite our bad results, they have always supported us and helped us to hold our heads up high again.

"They are patient but demand fighting spirit. With me the fans have always been fantastic."
