Valencia vow from Potters boss

Manager Tony Pulis promises Stoke will endeavour to continue their "great rollercoaster" of a season against Valencia on Thursday.

Pulis: 'Taxing' season for Stoke

The Potters secured an FA Cup quarter-final berth for the third year running at Crawley on Sunday thanks to goals from Jon Walters and Peter Crouch in a 2-0 win.

The clash came in between their high-profile Europa League round-of-32 encounters with Spanish giants Valencia.

Stoke head to the Mestalla on Thursday looking to overcome a 1-0 deficit from the first leg and Pulis has promised to leave no stone unturned.

"We'll give it our best," he said.

"They are a top team and I was very, very impressed on Thursday night.

"They have all the tools in their armour to be a top side and they are a Champions League team, really. They're not a Europa League side.

"There was a step up between what we have played in that competition, but it was lovely to be part of it.

"These are fantastic times at the football club, playing Valencia and the like.

"We're in the FA Cup quarter-finals for the third year running and it has been a great rollercoaster for us as a football club."

Stoke will be looking to build on their Crawley success, which ended a run of four successive defeats in all competitions.

"We play against a very, very good lower league side," Pulis added.

"We went down to 10 men [when Rory Delap was sent off] and we have shown the character and the spirit the football club has got.

"We've lost game but we've had a very challenging season. What I think people don't understand is how challenging this season has been so far.

"It is something like 43 games so far and we have travelled halfway around Europe playing Europa League ties. It is taxing.

"We, like everybody else who has been involved in those competitions, will have spells where we do well and spells where we don't."
