Harry Redknapp promised not to "leave Tottenham in the lurch" after the 5-0 victory over Newcastle at White Hart Lane on Saturday evening.
Redknapp was immediately installed as the favourite to succeed Fabio Capello as England manager following the Italian's resignation on Wednesday evening.
A sparkling display from Spurs, with fans chanting Redknapp's name throughout, will do little to dampen the FA's enthusiasm.
But Redknapp told ESPN: "They've been great to me since I've been here, the fans, I've enjoyed every minute at Tottenham. It's gone well for me here and I think we all appreciate each other.
"Things are going well, we've just got to keep focusing on the next game. We've got some great games to come.
"If it ever happened and I got the offer you'd have to consider that, but at the moment I'm just focusing purely on Tottenham.
"I'm not going to leave them in the lurch. Everyone's been great to me, it's going well here and we've just got to keep going."
Emmanuel Adebayor believes England need Harry Redknapp more than Tottenham - but he says the manager "has to stay" at White Hart Lane until the end of the season.
Adebayor played a central role in the hammering of Newcastle, setting up his side's first four goals before eventually ending his own seven-match drought.
He paid tribute to his manager for helping him through that barren spell and looked forward to the remainder of the campaign under his stewardship.
"He has to stay until the end of the season and from there we'll see," Adebayor told ESPN.
"He gives us confidence, he has done a lot for me when I was going through difficult moments.
"I think England need him more that Tottenham but I assure you he'll be here until the end of the season and then we'll see what happens."
Fellow striker Louis Saha, who scored twice on his home debut, added: "He gives confidence to the squad and the players, it's a real joy to play for him.
"I've just been here a few weeks but I've seen a rise in confidence and already improved, and I owe him a lot."
Benoit Assou-Ekotto opened the scoring and Saha made it 3-0 inside the first 20 minutes, before Niko Kranjcar and Adebayor rounded off the scoring.
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew paid tribute to Redknapp's team, telling ESPN: "They're a very, very good side. They've played as well against us as anyone and I'm sure with the firepower they've got, they've got a great chance of the title.
"They were very good and we had a problem today. We've got three of our first-choice midfield out and that was just too much.
"But a lot of the blame lays with me, we probably had too many offensive players on the pitch.
"The mood Tottenham came out in, we just got exposed time and again. I blame myself for that defeat.
"But we'll bounce back, you're going to get well beaten somewhere along the line and we got it today, but we've reacted well all year and we'll do the same.
"We're in a great position in the league, it hasn't done our goal difference any good today, but we're one point behind Arsenal and Chelsea and we hope to build on that."
