Loan star Landon Donovan admits an FA Cup date with Blackpool on Saturday could mark his final outing in an Everton shirt.
The USA international is set to bring the curtain down on a second stint with the Toffees this weekend.
With the new MLS season fast approaching, the experienced forward is set to link back up with parent club the Los Angeles Galaxy.
It has already been suggested that he will be brought back to Merseyside in 2013, but Donovan admits there is no guarantee that he will grace English football again.
"If you make two, you definitely don't make three," he said on his successful loan spells.
"It's possible this could be my last game for them. I really don't know.
"We'll see and if the opportunity is right, maybe, but I'm not going to force it. I wouldn't expect the manager to bring me back just because it's me, I'd only expect it if he needed to use me.
"But I've known the situation from the beginning and Galaxy didn't have to let me come. I owe them the respect of that."
Donovan has thoroughly enjoyed the time he has spent with the Toffees and considers Everton boss David Moyes - who has been touted as a potential successor to Harry Redknapp were the Tottenham boss to take the England job - to be one of the finest coaches in world football.
"I don't think I could overstate the manager's importance to this club," he added.
"When you look around the league at the salaries, as well as what teams are spending in the transfer market, against this team, it's almost a miracle this team finishes as high as it does every year.
"He gets the most out of every player. He gets the most out of every signing. He has been fantastic and I can't imagine the things this club would do with some of the budgets the other clubs have.
"The easiest place to look is across the road (at Liverpool). If he could spend £50m or £35m on a player, think where this team would finish. His work is really impressive and I'm very impressed with him. Sometimes players fit a club, sometimes managers fit a club.
"I don't think anyone would blame him for going somewhere like Tottenham but I guess everything depends on who would come in his place instead. It would be a very sad day if he ever left, that's for sure."
