Emmanuel Adebayor was the star of the show as Tottenham cruised to an impressive 5-0 win over Newcastle. The Togolese was involved after four minutes, providing the ideal pass across the face of goal for Benoit Assou-Ekotto to tap in at the back post. Two minutes later, Adebayor’s ball over the top found Louis Saha to volley into the roof, and the new strike partnership continued to blossom when Adebayor’s knockdown set up the Frenchman for a low strike. The 27-year-old saw his shot saved and run to Niko Kranjcar for Spurs’ fourth, before grabbing his deserved goal with a sharp side-volley from Saha’s towering downward header.

Luis Suarez will receive no punishment despite refusing to shake Patrice Evra’s hand on Saturday. Suarez has just returned from his eight-match ban but did nothing to bury the hatchet as he deliberately skipped over the extended hand of the Frenchman, who grabbed at the wrist of the Uruguayan with frustration and bewilderment both etched on his face. After having taken a stand against the FA’s charge of racism against Suarez, both the manager and the club have publicly apologized for what was a truly uncalled for act of disrespect.

Andrei Arshavin delivered a pinpoint stoppage time cross that found the Arsenal legend in space between the two center backs, and the Frenchman sent the ball in with a classy touch of his raised boot. Henry’s loan ends on Thursday as he heads back to New York, but after earning three precious Premier League points, the 34-year-old will be more adored by the Gunners faithful than ever.

Aaron Ramsey netted a stunning goal in Arsenal’s narrow 2-1 win over Sunderland. The Welshman came on for the injured Per Mertesacker, and took just three minutes to make an impact. When the ball bounced his way he hit a fizzing low shot that incredibly struck the base of both posts before going in.

Goalkeepers in the Spotlight

Michel Vorm produced one of the saves of the season so far to keep Kyle Naughton’s pile driver out of the top corner. The effort seemed gloriously goal-bound, but Vorm flew through the air at full-stretch, managing to touch the ball onto the crossbar with the slightest of fingertips. The Dutch stopper then reacted in a flash to block Wes Hoolahan’s point blank shot.

Ali Al Habsi preserved Wigan’s win at the death with a wonderful save. Ryo Miyaichi’s shot was heading into the far corner when Al Habsi stretched out an arm in an instant to block.

Wayne Hennessey didn’t have the best of afternoons as West Brom put five past Wolves. The Welshman was at fault when Jonas Olsson collected the ball after a scramble and sent a volley right at the keeper, who let the ball squirm between his hands. Hennessey had weak wrists again when he simply couldn’t palm Peter Odemwingie’s shot farther than the corner of his own net.

Joe Hart proved he is a valuable asset to the star-studded Manchester City lineup with a fine save to deny Aston Villa a point late on. The ball had fallen for Darren Bent who executed an overhead kick right in front of goal, but Hart’s reflexes were quick and his right arm was strong enough to keep the ball out.

Mark Davies scored a brilliant goal despite Bolton’s loss to Wigan. The ball had come off the back of David Ngog, and when it fell to Davies he unleashed a thunderbolt that flew into the top corner.

Wayne Rooney’s brace earned Manchester United a 2-1 win over Liverpool courtesy of two defensive mistakes. First Jordan Henderson inadvertently headed the ball on for Rooney who volleyed past Pepe Reina. The Englishman then slipped the ball coolly under the Spaniard after Antonio Valencia had dispossessed Jay Spearing.Rooney Manchester United long sleeve soccer jersey

Jamie Mackie & Steve Nzonzi starred in Blackburn’s entertaining 3-2 win over QPR. After Nzonzi set up Blackburn’s opening goal through Yakubu, he curled in a fine effort after an incisive one-two with David Hoilett. Mackie did well to net both of the visitors’ goals, taping into the roof of the net then sending his shot into the very top corner at the death.

Pavel Pogrebnyak was this week’s shining debutant, as his goal helped Fulham to a 2-1 win over Stoke. Just 16 minutes into his Cottagers career, the Russian got off the mark, controlling John Arne Riise’s speculative shot and smashing the ball clinically into the net.
