John Guidetti went from hero to villain in Feyenoord's 1-1 draw with RKC Waalwijk in the Eredivisie on Saturday evening.
Guidetti looked to have earned Feyenoord victory when he slotted home a 77th-minute penalty, but the in-form teenager - with hat-tricks in each of his previous three home league matches - was then shown a second yellow card for taking his shirt off in celebrating the goal.
That proved a costly error from the on-loan Manchester City striker as RKC made the most of their numerical advantage to snatch a leveller through Robert Braber's 87th-minute header.
At the other end of the table, VVV-Venlo defeated last-placed De Graafschap 4-1 away from home to move closer to safety.
The home side had led 1-0 at half-time through Rydell Poepon's 13th-minute opener, but VVV hit back with four second-half strikes from Danny Holla, Maya Yoshida, Ted Van de Pavert (own goal) and Steven Berghuis to take the points.
The win sees VVV extend their lead to four points over second-bottom Excelsior, who drew 1-1 at ADO den Haag.
ADO took the lead through a 35th-minute own goal from Edwin De Graaf but Excelsior drew level four minutes into the second half through Roland Alberg to salvage a draw.
In Saturday's other Eredivisie match, Heracles moved to within a point of eighth-placed Roda with a 2-1 home win over the Kerkrade outfit.
Roda held a 1-0 lead at the interval thanks to Sanharib Malki's 40th-minute strike, but Heracles drew level though Everton in the 65th minute before Willy Overtoom netted the winner from the penalty spot 12 minutes from time after Roda goalkeeper Pawel Kieszek had been sent off for bringing down Samuel Armenteros in the area.
Drogba scored in regulation and knocked in the final PK as Chelsea wins Champions League.
